Bathroom Renovation
This existing bathroom was a tight fit in this Durham residence – almost no storage was provided and an outdated fiberglass shower was boxed in by a mechanical closet. A tight budget meant only a few design moves could be afforded to modernize this tiny bath.
The first significant design move was to eliminate the hot water tank and provide a new, modern tankless system on the exterior of the house. This freed up a lot of valuable space for a new shower and enlarged lavatory cabinets, and additional storage was added over the toilet. The floor tile and matching mosaic which extend up the walls greatly enhances the open feeling of the shower experience.
This renovation has greatly changed the master bath, both in its appearance and its function. The space now feels larger, more refined, and better suited for modern use.
