Silverpoint Lake
This project expands and renovates an historic mid-century residence by modernizing the interiors and greatly expanding the overall usable square footage. We draw inspiration from the clean lines of the original house and carry this theme through the newly created space, always striving to honor the original while expanding on those existing architectural themes.
We unify three stories through a grand central atrium which leads to an artist’s loft and private balcony overlooking the nearby lake. This connection to the water is emphasized with a new grade-level playroom and lounge which opens onto an expansive patio space, creating a dramatic indoor-outdoor connection which the original house did not possess.
Areas of solidity are contrasted with the lightness of glass – the house grows more transparent as it emerges from the surrounding landscape – an intentional echo of the tree canopies which fully envelop this incredible home.
